The Other day, I watched the Nintendo Direct and I’m so excited about the titles coming out. When I got the notification, I was hoping for it to be a bit more Pokemon Centered, since Z-A is due to release towards the end of the year. Then while I plotted where I wanted to take this post they released the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct and I have to tell you I’m obsessed.

Here are a few of the games I’m most looking forward too in ’25. I have a Playstation 5 but I honestly spend most of my gaming time on my switch. I love the portability of it and its almost always on my person.

One of the biggest ones is Cosmic Invasion. I spent a good portion of my childhood playing X-men arcade cabinet, Marvel Vs. Capcom and Marvel Vs. Capcom 2. I even played competitively in college for Marvel Vs. Capcom 3, and tried to relive some of my former glory in 2023 when I went to Vegas for EVO. Side Scrolling, great art AND favorite marvel characters? Count me in!

Game Chat sounds amazing, as well. I love playing games with my friends and family and hate having to do it through facetime. I love being able to see things as they see them and I’m so looking forward to that. Also a huge fan of being able to share games again. I was a huge fan of that when I was actively playing my 3DSXL.

That little snippet of Professor Layton and the Steam Engine was everything. I’ve been waiting for another Professor Layton game for a long time. I enjoyed Lady Layton, but it was missing that original flair. I’m hoping that this will mean they will also port the rest of the games to the Switch. I have the entire 3DS collection, but trying to go back to that screen after being on the Switch is ludicrous.

One of the things I’m super excited about is the fact that all of the Switch 2 games have 2025 release dates, so the system is releasing with a large variety of games to go with it, instead of when the PS5 came out and I couldn’t really find anything I was itching to play. Raidou Remastered, Shadow Labrynth, Disney Villains Cafe, Witchbrook, Rift of the Necrodancer and more all are slated to come out this year.

Let’s talk about the cool things being added to the Swtich 2. I love the game chat ease of having a button for it, instead of having to look for it in a menu. Locally game share is lovely and I can’t wait to share tht with my family. I also like the game chat is available in handheld mode because I hardly ever connect my switch to my tv unless I’m streaming or the family is over. I’m glad I won’t be forced to connect just to enjoy that.

Also kind of interested in the camera aspect. I had all the accessories for the PS3 and this was giving heavy nostalgia. Switch 2 will have a screen size of 7.9 inches. I know its not a huge screen, but .9 can mean a world of difference. When I upgraded my kindle, that .8 inches was like 4 extra paragraphs per swipe. While I think the mouse use can be interesting it doesn’t really look user friendly. When will you actually use that?

I’m sure the site looks a bit different, but you know what they say, new year new me right? There’s been a few changes that you’ll see in the upcoming weeks but today, I’m talking about the latest game I’ve started playing. 2025 is the going to be the year of enjoying my hobbies and taking time for myself. I decided that 2025 was going to be the year of enjoying and working on my hobbies. I feel like my gaming really kind of fell off in 2024 after how heartbroken Evo ’23 left me.

I think I needed that year to rest, and think about if I was still interested in it. Spoiler alert, I AM! So I bought myself a new PS5 controller and some new games for Christmas. The first one I decided to start playing is Visions of Mana.

The number one reason I chose this game was that it isn’t a drop-down RPG. I’ve lived with myself and my lack of patience for almost 34 years. Drop-down, turn-based RPGs just are not my style. Visions of Mana is the latest in the Mana Series and features a melee attack format, which I am in love with.

I’m about 5 hours of gameplay in, but my main Character Val is on level 5 and I’ve already added a new character, Careena to my party. The gist of this game is that a fairie chooses people from different elemental villages to become an Alm, a sacred person who makes the hollowed journey to the Tree of Mana where they give their soul to replenish the mana for the world.

In this game, the sacrifice does appear to be permanent, so the game begins with a couple, a soul guard and an Alm, trying to escape their village so they don’t have to die. The village guard stops them numerous times, and you get to just hack and slash your way to freedom. I like this tactic because it’s the perfect way for you to learn all the buttons while plunging you headlong into the story without getting lost or drowning in lore.

Unfortunately, the couple is not successful and the village guard is continually telling them that if they leave their village will perish, but young love conquers all and they persevere. They get nearly to the gate when the alm suddenly turns to stone. Ya’ll I cried. Not sure if it has to do with my period, or I was just so submerged in the story that I was connected to them, but I was so heartbroken for our original couple.

Then the title card and opening started, and while it was beautiful, I was still sad for our star-crossed lovers. We begin in a small village with two new friends, as one of them is chosen to be the fire Alm. Val, who has been training their whole (very young) life to be a Soul Guard, starts on the trek with Hinna, the new Fire Alm, and our first mission to make our way to the wind village and pick up the Wind Alm.

One thing I did notice was that everything is so beautiful, and the characters are so cute, but so are the monsters. You expect me to be excited about killing a rabbit? A Mushroom with HEARTS on its CAP? Yo, what are you doing to my heart ??? I’ve literally spent the last 27 years playing Pokémon, and I’ve never come across such adorable monsters to battle. I almost feel bad attacking them, and have run through a few gaggles without actually fighting them.

I’m thoroughly enjoying my gameplay so far, even though I’m sad when I beat up the cute creatures. I’m on Chapter One, about 5 hours in. I’ve visited multiple towns, added two people to my fighting party, classed up my main, AND fought my first big boss!

I finally got everything set up to start streaming regularly again! I'm starting out with a tentative schedule of Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday around Midnight since I’m usually awake around that time and don’t have to worry about waking Boy Wonder. Getting back into the swing of things, my first stream, I decided to play a new game I picked up a couple of months ago, called Melody of Memories!

It’s a rhythm game in the Kingdom Hearts Franchise! I’ve been a fan of Kingdom Hearts for a while, but I didn’t really have the patience to complete the game, I got about as far as Wonderland in KH1 and gave up after that. I attempted every game after, similar to my experiences with Zelda but it just didn’t click. However, I love music, and rhythm games have a very special place in my heart, so I knew I had to try it!

I’ve been pretty into gaming the last couple of weeks or so, and since I’m constantly on youtube, I’ve found a few that I’m super interested in!

So here are the games that I’m looking forward to for the switch. I do still have a ps4 but I honestly just play my switch more, so I’m trying to focus on those and build up that collection.

A few of the games that were on my list I have already picked up so you may see those twice.

Cult of the Lamb August 11: I’m honestly not sure what this game is about but the trailer was the cutest macabre thing Ive ever seen and I must play it! I’m excited for what looks like platform play and the little lamb character reminds me of Lion-o So I‘m down! I’m excited to see if were actually conjuring demons or if were trying to send them back where they came from.

Capcom Fighting Collection Bought: I grew up on Puzzle Fighter, Pocket Fighter and Darkstalkers, so I’m so excited to have a piece of my childhood back on my favorite gaming system! Plus with the new ability to play ranked matches online its going to bring a new aspect of competition to the game that wasnt there before.

Persona 5 Royals October: I loved playing Persona Q on my 3DS and while I bought Persona 5 for the ps4, it is literally unopened. That’s how much I barely use the ps4, at this point its around only for Arcade fighters. So with it coming to the switch, when I take everywhere it just makes more sense. Plus they’re bringing back 3 and 4, so I could potentially play them all!

Bear and Breakfast July 28: I honestly think I just love how chaotic this game looks! Another semi-cozy game about trying to keep a bed and breakfast afloat when you have a mischievous bear on the loose.

Splatoon 3 September 9: I missed out on the Splatoon 1 craze, because I didn’t have a Wii U, but I play the hell out of some Splatoon 2! It has by far the most played hours of any game! I hop on when I’m itching for a bit of excitement because its one of the few games I play with other people online.

Time On Frog Island NOW: I’m not really a cozy player, but something about this game seems like a blast. I’m ready for the platform fun, and all the new powers I‘lol be able to have by being a frog.

Bayonetta 3 October: I vaguely remember playing the original on the wii and having an absolute blast so now I’m ready for some more. I probably could go find two somewhere, but why go back when you can hop into the newest one?

The Delicious Last Course NOW: So I love playing Cuphead but it is like mega hard! This is one of the few games capable of making me ragequit. I am interested in the DLC but I am not going to buy it until I’m a bit further in Cuphead the game, I’m afraid ill buy it and it will sit there for ages because I haven’t finished the game yet.

Pac man World August 26: I loved playing PAC World on the PlayStation 2 and its always fun when you have a platformer! I’m excited for the giant pacman eating up the ghosts on a more regular basis honestly.

Kirby: Dream Buffett Summer ‘22: This one I’m super excited about! I’m always looking for new party and group games for my switch because I love playing with my family, so the fact that Kirby is getting his first party game has me super pumped! Plus all the adorable kirby’s and all the dessert related adventures? How could you not be excited about it?

Pokemon Scarlet + Violet November 18th: I’ve got a reaction video and an entire blog post about what I’m looking forward too in this new addition to the series. So I won’t wax on too much but now that my birthday is out of the way, November cannot come fast enough! I’m so excited to meet all the new Pokemon, getting back to getting lost in caves, training the cutest team and playing the new 4 player co op options!

One of the new things I love about playing games on my new phone is how easy it is to record the screen! With this ease, it’s allowed me to capture cozy gaming footage straight from wherever I decided to plant myself and then I can easily show you a lot of what I’ve been playing lately. I love being able to play games on the go, which is why I use my Switch so much more than my PS4.

My favorite games to play on the go are platformers, side scrollers, and puzzle games. So let me introduce you to the latest game I’ve been playing! Enter, Super Cat Tales 2, a sidescrolling platformer you can play directly from the screen on your mobile phone. No controller necessary, you start as an adorable grey and white cat, who happens to notice a spaceship crash into the nearby forest.

Upon further inspection you realize that it is an alien spacecraft, that was housing Nut and Bolt-like aliens that have delusions of grandeur and world domination. To stop them, you team up with Sgt. Mcmeow and head off into the sunset to beat up the baddies. This footage, captures the first three levels of the game, because I got frustrated, and went to play something else. I love how cute the character design is!

On the 16th of June TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge was released for the public digitally in the Nintendo Eshop. I generally prefer to buy physical copies only, but there are a few games that a digital copy is perfect for. This being one of them, with my 24 cartridge holder, practically bursting, I thought getting the digital copy would be perfect, especially since I JUST updated my SD card capacity so what better time? Shredder’s Revenge won’t receive a physical copy until late July.

As a child, I was pretty fond of Donatello, had a few action figures, and loved the ’90s cartoon. I didn’t keep up with the series as I became an adult, but I did see the (2007) in theaters, and thoroughly enjoyed the film and the soundtrack. This game reminds me of everything you wanted about the series as a kid. Original voice actors, great soundtrack, and the smoothest graphics I’ve seen in a long time. It gives me that nostalgic arcade feels, without the financial loss of a thousand quarters.

Developed by Tribute Games, who also brought us another of my personal favorites, Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World: The Game. I’ve only finished the second level as of writing this but I am having the best time! While the game has several game mechanics that are super fun, I was a little worried about how expansive the button list was but after a few foot clan lackeys I had it down in no time.

I’ve been spending a bit of time lately playing video games. It’s been pretty relaxing. I’ve picked up a few new accessories and games that I want to show ya! Thought it would be fun to film a video about it! Make sure to subscribe to my Youtube channel for more gaming content!

I wandered into Gamestop a couple of days ago while I was out and about and every time I’ve been in there, Bustafellows has been staring at me, I keep thinking about it but not taking the plunge but now! I have and I’m so excited to play it with you guys!~ I then fell down a rabbit hole on Amazon and as they say, the rest was history!

I’m constantly playing my switch, but I’ve wanted to get back into tournaments for a while now, so I dusted off my PS4 and realized that not only does everything need to be updated but I definitely need new controllers, So I grabbed those, some new Thumb grips and a more!

I’m so excited to be talking about this trailer. I didn’t think I’d be talking about it so soon but I’m all for it!~ We learned a lot in this latest trailer! Including a release date of November 18th 2022. Digital Pre-orders are already available, but as always I’ll be waiting for a physical copy.

The #1 thing I’m looking forward to is the 4 Person Team Play. I’m honestly not sure how its supposed to function but I am all here for it. I wonder if it’s going to split screen or if they’ll be on the screen with you? Or even better you’ll be able to seen them on the screen and interact with them if you happen to be in the same area? That would be awesome.

I’m interested in the 2 different professors. Generally you only have one professor for the series you’re in… Why are there 2? Do you get to choose which one you go with? Or is it a two for the price of one deal. Sada and Turo, I wonder what their story is?

The Best part the new Pokémon! Lechonk is everything and I must get one immediately. I also NEED to know the name of the little electric Pokémon in the beginning its so cute I honestly can‘t stand it.

I’ve been trying to add more gaming content to my channel and the blog! I know it’s been a while since I’ve written about video games, but I got some new accessories that I want to share with you! I’ve been thinking that 2019 will be the year of creative things. I am committing myself to make more Youtube videos, at least one a month, but I’m hoping to survive Once a week. What better way to start a new year and a fresh start than with a collaboration?
